Rocks, Trees, and Water in Watercolor

New to Dillman's
www.tsart.org

Learn skills and techniques to successfully paint a landscape which includes rocks, trees and water. We will talk about creating a winning composition from photographs, study different techniques to portray each of the elements, and then put them together into a finished painting. The instructor will demo the techniques that she uses to create award winning waterscapes and will work with each student to ensure that they understand the techniques and when to use them. Our goal will be to complete a finished painting using the techniques during the workshop.

“My goal is to not give a photo realistic impression of a subject, but my artistic rendition through the many unique and surprising ‘accidents’ that can happen when using watercolors. “Although I have a tendency to try to control my art, I strive to turn the control over to the medium and still achieve a recognizable image".

Teri, a recent transplant from Phoenix, Arizona to Gardnerville, Nevada, has been exploring the many facets of watercolors for many years. “The distinctive qualities of watercolors intrigue me and keep me experimenting with different ideas. I love the fluidity and transparency of the medium and try to let those elements represent my vision in each painting.

Teri has won numerous awards in art shows and is a member of the Sierra Watercolor Society and the Tahoe Art league.
