Taylor Road Barn

by Randy E
(Whidbey Island, WA)

OK, here's my story.

I thought I was going to be an artist when I was in school back in the 60's. I raised my family and retired from the Navy.

A year and a half ago I started the hard push to learn watercolor as fast as I can. The first month I entered a local show and got one juried in.

My first paintings are framed and hang in the den. They are awful! I love them because whenever I want to understand how far I have come so far I look at them.

I have a long way to go but I paint everyday. My studio is the kitchen counter. I keep count of the ones I paint that I think are good enough to sign. I just finished 101.

I picked this painting to share because it is the first painting that gave me the feeling I was getting somewhere.
