Some more things to "think"about
by: Jim the host

This is a nice clean(no mud) does not show any "overworking" Randy puts it down and leaves it alone.Which is the most difficult thing to do for most of us. Good Job. Now here comes the buts......Stepping stones are taking the eye out of the painting headed to the right. Take the eye towards (with the stones) the jetty. Foregrounds are a pain most times. So this is what you do. Arrange 3 or 4 shapes.Noticethe nice Yellow shape in the painting. Now put some darker greens shapes in .weave in a little yellow shape . Then cast a darker shape indicating the shadow of a tree ,This does not have to appear in the painting. If fact I agree with Compostion Bill who ever he may be. Plus i would remove the middle tree. Hope this does not appear to be piling on This is a very nice painting. May be finish of the top left corner of the bridge and place a red incidental figure around the jetty.

Nice work few items to take of
by: compostion Bill

Good painting. You might have a few compostion errors. These are my ideas, nothing is cast in stone. Never split the painting into two halves.Either raise or lower the horizon line. How about moving the tree on the right off the picture, and throw the foilage towards the left forming a arch in the sky You never want to place a verticle object very close to the edge of the work. this might turn your good painting into a great painting
